Capric acid (C10) is a naturally occurring fatty acids in coconut oil and palm kernel oil. It is used as a chemical intermediate in the production of esters which are used for perfumes, lubricants, greases, rubber, dyes, and plastics. This fatty acid has natural anti-microbial properties, making it useful as a sanitizer for industrial cleaners, food contact surfaces and equipment such as those found in meat processing plants, breweries, and wineries.
