To give you a refresher they were tasked with trying five new restaurants in Nashville. These restaurants were Ole Red, Arnold’s Country Kitchen, Robert’s West World, The Green Pheasant, and Merchants. You can view the article that we wrote about these here.
Were you able to give some new restaurants a try this year at Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN? Mel and Katrina have returned and are ready to give their report on the restaurants that we sent them to this year.
Once they returned they were asked five questions about the restaurants they experienced.
- Which restaurant was your favorite?
- Katrina: I would have to say my overall favorite was Arnold’s. You walk in and it is served cafeteria style which kind of threw me off, but the food was AMAZING!
- Mel: A tie between Arnold’s Country Kitchen and Merchant’s. It depends on if you want more of a “comfort food” or a nice piece of steak.
- Which restaurant had the most Nashville vibe?
- K: Depends on what kind of Nashville vibe you are looking for. Robert’s Western World definitely had the ol’ country music vibe. Ole Red was more the up and coming country music vibe.
- M: Robert’s Western World
- What was your favorite dish that you tried?
- K: I had two favorites-Fried Bologna Sandwich from Robert’s Western World and the Fried Green Tomatoes from Merchants
- M: Fried bologna sandwich from Robert’s Western World. I’ve never had it before and it was actually pretty good!
- Is there anything that you wish you would have tried but didn’t?
- K: I wish I would have tried grits. I heard so many good things about them.
- M: Ole Red had a dessert called “Absolute Obnoxious Lucky Charms Sundae”. I was too full to order it at the end of my meal.
- Where would you go back to again?
- K: The only one I wouldn’t go back to was The Green Pheasant. It was not my favorite cuisine.
- M: I would go to all except for the Green Pheasant.
Mel and Katrina were excited to see many familiar faces at STLE and look forward to next year!
