Application
Tetra 2-Ethyl Hexyl Titanate (TEHT) is a reactive liquid organic alkoxy titanate with 100% active content, widely used as a Lewis acid catalyst in esterification, transesterification, condensation, and addition reactions. It is highly effective in producing (meth)acrylic esters, polyesters, plasticizers, polyurethanes, and other esters, offering benefits such as higher yields, elimination of by-products, simplified work-up, low catalyst concentration, and low toxicity. Beyond catalysis, TEHT functions as an adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent for hydroxylic compounds, enhancing surface hardness, scratch resistance, corrosion resistance, and adhesion on glass, metals, fillers, and pigments. It is also used as an additive in paints to crosslink functional polymers or act as a binder, and can form micro- or nanoscale TiO₂ pigments or polymeric TiO₂ films through pyrolytic or sol-gel processes, making it valuable in heat- and corrosion-resistant coatings.
