Application
Polyalphaolefin 6 (PAO 6) serves as a Group IV base stocks and viscosity builders for a wide range of industrial lubricant products. Applications for PAO 6 base stocks include both automotive and industrial gear oils, bearing lubricants, transmission fluids, turbine oils, compressor oils, circulating oils, hydraulic oils, grease, and other synthetic lubricant oils. PAO 6 gives superior performance in high temperature protection and low temperature fluidity with a high viscosity index (VI). It also has excellent shear stability, low volatility, and excellent resistance to oxidation. These properties make PAO 6 well suited for applications that are subjected to extreme operating conditions, such as cold weather start-ups or high operating temperatures. PAO 6 is colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive and do not contain sulfur, nitrogen, or aromatics. PAO 6 can be blended with other synthetic base stocks and are compatible with synthetic esters and alkylated naphthalene.
