Application
Phthalic Anhydride (PA) is an important chemical intermediate widely used in the production of phthalate ester plasticizers, unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), alkyd resins, pigments, and dyes. Its role is particularly significant in the manufacture of UPR for fiberglass reinforced plastics and in the pigments and dyes industry, where it is a key raw material for organic pigments such as phthalocyanine blue, green, and other high-performance pigments. Beyond these major uses, phthalic anhydride is also applied in the production of polyester polyols, flame retardants, herbicides, insecticides, insect repellents, and rubber scorch inhibitors, making it a versatile component across multiple industries.
