Application
Butyl Acrylate is a key raw material used in the production of homopolymers and copolymers, which serve as essential building blocks in adhesives, plastics, and coatings. As a precursor to poly(butyl acrylate), it is manufactured on a large commercial scale and widely incorporated into formulations with acrylic acid, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleates, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, and unsaturated polyesters. Its use enhances important polymer properties, including toughness, flexibility, softness, and low-temperature performance, while also delivering superior UV durability that makes it well-suited for outdoor applications. In latex paint formulations, Butyl Acrylate contributes to excellent water resistance, weathering stability, and sunlight protection, ensuring long-lasting performance across a variety of end-use applications.
