Application
Lauric Acid is a saturated medium-chain fatty acid with a 12-carbon backbone, primarily sourced from coconut and palm oils. Known for its low unsaturated fatty acid content and correspondingly low iodine value, it serves as an emollient, thickener, and lipid layer enhancer in personal care products such as lotions, hair conditioners, soaps, antiperspirants, and lipsticks. Beyond personal care, lauric acid is also used in lubricants, paints, and as a textile processing agent.
