Application

Graphene is a crystalline form of carbon arranged in a honeycomb structure in a 1 atom thick layer. This allotrope of carbon (others being diamond and graphite), has many properties which make it very versatile and useful in the manufacture of various products. Graphene’s structure makes it one of the strongest materials in the world. With a tensile strength of 130 GPa (gigapascals), it is more than 100 times stronger than steel. It is lightweight, flexible, and transparent with unique thermal and electrical conductivity properties. Thus, Graphene can be used in the manufacture of anti-static plastic, lightweight reinforced plastic, marine or automotive paint, ink, coated paper, textiles, solar cells, semiconductors, and electronics.
