Application

Fumed Silica is a submicron-sized, medium surface area synthetic silica used as a versatile additive across various industries. It functions as a filler, thickener, free-flow agent, and rheology modifier, enhancing viscosity, stability, and handling characteristics in both liquid and solid systems. Fumed silica plays a crucial role in improving thixotropy, anti-settling, anti-sagging, and powder flow properties. It is most efficient in non-polar to medium polarity systems and finds application in elastomers, adhesives, inks, sealants, rubbers, greases, paints, coatings, and plastics, as well as in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food additives. Its reinforcing effect also benefits silicone and organic rubbers by enhancing mechanical properties.
