Application
Ethylhexyl Oleate (EHO) is a long chain fatty acid monoester that can be used as a Group V Base fluid for and as a lubricity additive for metalworking fluids. It is well suited for environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, greases, and metalworking fluids due to its biodegradability and low toxicity profile. Due to its polar nature, EHO works by adhering to metal surfaces and providing a friction barrier. It is a great choice for industrial lubricants due to its low viscosity, high viscosity index (VI), good thermal and hydrolytic stability. Additional applications for EHO include use as a plasticizer for inks and an emollient for personal care products.
