Application
Chlorendic Anhydride is a solid, reactive acid anhydride flame retardent. It is used to impart permanent flame retardance, high heat distortion, and exceptional corrosion and abrasion resistance to resins such as unsaturated polyesters and alkyds. Commonly applied in the production of composites for boats, construction panels, and electrical applications, it is also utilized in epoxy resins, metal adhesive coatings, and UV curable inks and coatings, particularly for enhancing metal adhesion. Additionally, Chlorendic Anhydride serves as a crosslinking agent in epoxy resins and a low-smoke component in polyols for rigid polyurethane foams. Resin systems containing it can be formulated to meet flame retardancy and surface flammability standards such as ASTM E84, UL-94, ASTM E 162-78, and U.S. military specifications.
