Application

Benzyl Benzoate is a colorless organic compound, formally the ester of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid, and appears as a liquid at temperatures above 17°C, requiring insulated storage below that point. It is easily prepared, non-toxic, and primarily used as a plasticizer in the manufacture of polymeric materials, including synthetic rubbers, PVC, polyethylene, and other plastics. In addition to its industrial uses, Benzyl Benzoate serves multiple roles across other sectors: as a fixative in fragrances, a preservative and fragrance ingredient in personal care products, a food additive in artificial flavors, a solvent, and in various medical applications within the healthcare and veterinary fields.
