Application
Adipic acid is most commonly used to produce nylon, which can be processed into fibers to create textiles and other fabrics. Adipic Acid is also used in the production of adipate plasticizes such as Dioctyl Adipate. As a food ingredient, Adipic acid can be used as a flavorant to give a tart taste, as well as a gelling aid. Adipic acid is also an intermediate in the production of some polyurethanes.
