Application
Acetonitrile is a colorless liquid that is widely used as a solvent due to its relatively high dielectric constant, low viscosity, and low chemical reactivity. Acetonitrile’s low viscosity makes it desirable for liquid chromatography. With its high dielectric constant and ability to dissolve electrolytes, Acetonitrile is often used in battery applications as well. Other applications for acetonitrile include use in pharmaceuticals and photographic film.
