Application
Acetone is a clear, fast-evaporating, low-boiling ketone known for its high solvency power. It is widely used as a non-reactive solvent and chemical intermediate in the production of methacrylates, ketones, Bisphenol A, chloroform, and acetylene gas. Acetone is VOC-exempt and plays a key role in the manufacture of cellulose acetate fibers, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, photographic film, printing inks, paints, and varnishes. It is also commonly used in polychloroprene and polyurethane-based adhesives, as an extraction solvent, and in formulations for paints, thinners, and paint strippers, where its ability to dissolve a wide range of polymers ensures excellent performance.
