Application
n-Propanol (n-Propyl Alcohol) is a three-carbon straight-chain oxo alcohol and a medium-boiling, colorless liquid valued for its versatility in industrial and chemical applications. With a mild, ethanol-like odor and complete water miscibility, it is widely used in flexographic and other printing inks, as well as in surface coatings where it balances drying and flow characteristics. Beyond coatings, n-Propanol is an important chemical intermediate in organic synthesis and serves effectively as a solvent. It offers excellent reactivity as an intermediate, is inherently biodegradable, and is classified as inert for both food (with limitations) and nonfood uses. With a medium evaporation rate, low environmental impact (non-HAP, non-SARA), and REACH compliance, n-Propanol provides a reliable, sustainable choice for diverse formulation and manufacturing needs.
