Application
1,6-Hexanediol Diglycidyl Ether is a low-viscosity, aliphatic diepoxide designed for use as a reactive diluent in high-viscosity epoxy resin systems. It is fully compatible with epoxy resins at all concentrations, and blends of resin and can be cured using any standard epoxy curing agent. While 1,6-Hexanediol Diglycidyl Ether is less effective at reducing viscosity than aliphatic monofunctional reactive diluents it offers a significant advantage in maintaining the performance integrity of the final formulation. Due to its difunctional structure, 1,6-Hexanediol Diglycidyl Ether has a minimal impact on properties like gel time, mechanical strength, and modulus, which remain largely consistent with those of undiluted resins—depending on the level of dilution. Additionally, the difunctionality of 1,6-Hexanediol Diglycidyl Ether contributes to enhanced chemical and thermal resistance, delivering better durability compared to systems formulated with monofunctional diluents.
