Undecanedioic Acid (UDDA) is a naturally-occurring carboxylic acid. It is a dry powder commonly used in the production of corrosion inhibitors. UDDA is a conjugate acid of an undecanedioic acid anion. It is classified with medium-chain fatty acids.
Industrial Uses
Undecanedioic Acid (UDDA) is extensively used as a corrosion inhibitor, most often in water treatment, pulp and paper, chemical facilities, and other industrial facilities. It is also used in hot-melt adhesives, high-performance polyamides, and Nylon.
When used in a mixture with other dibasic acids, UDDA is especially effective as a ferrous corrosion inhibitor for metalworking fluids, engine coolants, metal cleaners, aqueous hydraulic fluids, and die cast release agents. Undecanedioic Acid also finds use in lubricants and powder coatings.
