Application
Diisodecyl Sebacate (DIDS) is a sebacate diester known for its excellent low-temperature performance and is commonly used as a Synthetic Group V base oil. It enhances solubility, reduces varnish formation, and extends fluid life when blended with Group III and Group IV lubricants. DIDS is particularly effective in applications such as metalworking fluids, greases, compressor and engine oils, and dielectric coolants. Due to its biodegradability and low toxicity profile, it is well suited for environmentally friendly lubricant formulations. Additionally, DIDS serves as a plasticizer for PVC, NBR, and other vinyl copolymers, offering improved permanence and flexibility as a monomeric ester.
