Application
RDGE (Resorcinol Diglycidyl Ether) is a low-viscosity aromatic difunctional epoxy resin, also known as epoxidized resorcinol. While it can be used as the sole resin in epoxy formulations, its primary role is as a highly effective reactive modifier. Compatible with all epoxy resin curing agents, RDGE provides formulators with broad flexibility in curing agent selection due to its high reactivity. When blended into epoxy systems, it reduces viscosity, accelerates curing, and promotes high crosslink density. This enhanced crosslinking results in improved strength, superior heat and chemical resistance, and better overall performance compared to formulations modified with other reactive diluents, with property modifications depending on concentration.
