Application
Glycol Ether DE (also known as Diethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether) is a very polar, slow-evaporating, water-miscible solvent with low odor, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications. It is an active solvent for cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, epoxy resins, and other coating materials, and is widely used in lacquer and thinner formulations, quick-drying varnishes, and enamels. It serves as a coalescent in latex paints and floor polishes, as well as a penetrating solvent in wood stains. Additionally, it finds use in the production of soaps, dyes, cosmetics, hydraulic brake fluids, and textile and printing dyes, and functions as a chemical intermediate in various synthesis processes.
