Application
Glycol Ether DB Acetate (Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether Acetate) is a high-boiling, slow-evaporating glycol ether ester known for its excellent solvent activity, high blush resistance, and readily biodegradable nature. It is widely used in printing inks, high-bake enamel coatings, and as a coalescing aid in low pH latex paints, making it especially effective in screen inks and coil coatings. It is compatible with resins such as cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, ester gum, and polyvinyl acetate, and is also approved under CFR 175.105 for indirect food contact applications. Additionally, DB Acetate serves as a selective solvent in alcohol-ketone separations and provides high electrical resistance in sensitive formulations.
