Application
Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate is a polar, high-solvating plasticizer with broad compatibility across polar polymers and rubbers. It is widely used in latex caulks, adhesives, sealants, coatings, and vinyl plastisols. In addition to its industrial applications, it serves as a superior solvent and solubilizer for active materials and is highly effective in personal care formulations. The dibenzoate structure makes it ideal for clear product formulations, including sunscreens, where it enhances the efficiency of UV filters. It also provides excellent skin conditioning and moisturization, comparable to petrolatum but without a greasy after-feel, leaving skin soft, smooth, and supple. These properties make it valuable in day creams, lotions, antiperspirants, deodorants, and hair care products, where it imparts humectancy, moisture, and shine.
