Application
Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) is a high-purity, oxidation-stable solvent used in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), pharmaceutical products, fine chemicals, and agrochemicals. It is valuable for extractions, purification processes, and as a chemical intermediate. In the automotive industry, MTBE serves as a high-octane blending component for motor vehicle fuels, including specialized racing fuels, helping gasoline burn cleaner and reducing automobile emissions. Unlike ethanol, it does not increase evaporative emissions and is fully compatible with existing gasoline distribution systems.
