Application
Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor, widely used across industrial and commercial applications. It serves as a key component in petroleum well operations, ore reduction, food processing, pH adjustment, and general cleaning. In metal processing, HCl is employed as a pickling and metal cleaning agent to remove oxides and scale. A notable application is in oil well acidizing, where it increases production by dissolving calcium and magnesium carbonate rock formations, enhancing their permeability to oil and gas flow into the well casing.
