Application
Heptane is a fast to medium evaporating aliphatic solvent known for its effectiveness in dissolving non-polar substances, fats, and oils. Its chemical inertness makes it an excellent choice for sensitive processes, such as the purification, recrystallization, and washing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), as well as in the production of synthetic rubbers like polybutadiene. Beyond pharmaceuticals, Heptane is used to dilute heavy greases and oils for easier application and is also a key component in paints, varnishes, and adhesives.
