Application
Diundecyl Phthalate (DUP) is a non-toxic, oily, colorless, and odorless liquid that is less dense than water and belongs to the group of primary plasticizers. As a long-chain linear phthalate, it is particularly suited for applications requiring high temperature stability, low volatility, and long-term durability. DUP is widely used in the manufacture of PVC products such as films, vinyl-coated fabrics, automotive components, roofing membranes, flooring, window and door seals, and electrical wire and cable. It provides excellent low-temperature flexibility, permanence under high heat, and resistance to UV light and weathering, making it ideal for outdoor and automotive applications. Additionally, DUP exhibits low fogging properties, which are highly valued in the automotive industry, and offers good electrical performance, especially in thin-walled automotive cables exposed to varying temperature extremes. For electrical uses, it is typically stabilized with 0.1% by weight inhibitor, though unstabilized DUP (DUP-N) is available upon request.
