Application
Diundecyl phthalate (DUP) is a linear undecyl phthalate plasticizer for PVC that is especially suited for applications such as films, vinyl coated fabrics, automotive, construction (roofing membranes, flooring, and window & door seals), and electrical wire and cable. DUP has excellent low-temperature flexibility, permanence at high temperature, and UV light resistance, making it a prime choice for outdoor applications that will be subject to extreme weathering conditions. DUP has low volatility which in turn makes for great aging performance. It exhibits low fogging, making it attractive to the automotive industry. Diundecyl phthalate also has good electrical properties, making it especially useful in thin-walled automotive cables that will be exposed to a range of high and low temperatures. For electrical applications, DUP is usually inhibited with a stabilizer at a concentration of 0.1% by weight. Un-stabilized DUP (DUP-N) can be made available upon request.
