Application
Dioctyl Sebacate (DOS) is a pure synthetic diester known for its excellent lubricity, low friction, and exceptional low-temperature fluidity. It is widely used as a plasticizer in PVC, nitrocellulose, styrene resins, and synthetic rubbers, particularly where low-temperature performance is critical. DOS is FDA CFR 21 compliant for food contact materials, making it suitable for regulated applications. It is commonly used in products such as anti-frosting cables, artificial leather, outdoor cables, PVC linoleum, and various rubber and resin formulations. Additionally, DOS serves as a base stock in lubricants, enhancing mobility at lower temperatures and offering a very high viscosity index. In the personal care industry, it is valued for its silky feel and ease of spread, making it a common ingredient in deodorants, antiperspirants, makeup, skin conditioners, lotions, and sunscreens.
