Application

Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP) is a high molecular weight, general-purpose plasticizer widely used in flexible PVC applications. Known for its excellent compatibility with vinyl—even at high concentrations—DINP serves as an effective primary plasticizer for plastisols, extruded and molded parts. It offers a well-balanced combination of performance and cost efficiency, making it a preferred replacement for DOP, especially in applications facing regulatory restrictions. Compared to DOP, DINP provides lower volatility, better cold temperature flexibility, and enhanced permanence. Its excellent rheological behavior in plastisols contributes to improved dry blend times, while its resistance to water and outdoor exposure makes it ideal for use in automotive, construction, home goods, adhesives, leather and footwear, wire and cable, and textiles. DINP can also be blended with secondary plasticizers and is REACH registered for compliance in regulated markets.
