Application
Caprylic Acid, also known as Octanoic Acid or C8 Fatty Acid, is a short-chain, saturated fatty acid naturally found in vegetable oils and certain animal milks. It is primarily used as a fragrance and flavoring agent in perfumes and food products. Caprylic Acid also serves in the manufacture of lubricants, dyes, pesticides, disinfectants, and as a solubilizer for mineral oils in synthetic lubricant formulations. Its strong natural antimicrobial properties make it an effective surface disinfectant, especially in food and beverage processing environments such as meat processing plants, breweries, wineries, and healthcare facilities. Additionally, it is used as a sanitizer for food contact surfaces and has gained popularity as a dietary supplement in recent years.
