Application
Capric Acid is a fatty acid that is naturally derived from coconut and palm oils. Also referred to as Decanoic Acid or C10 Fatty Acid, capric acid is classified as an oleochemical, and is used in the manufacture of perfumes, lubricants, greases, rubber, dyes, plastics, artificial flavorings in food, and pharmaceuticals. Capric Acid is also non-toxic, and the natural antimicrobial properties of capric acid make it useful as a sanitizer for food contact surfaces and equipment. Capric Acid can also be used as an intermediate in some chemical syntheses. Since it is naturally occurring, Capric Acid is considered eco-friendly, and is readily biodegradable.
