Application
12-Hydroxy Stearic Acid (12-HSA) is a waxy, castor-derived fatty acid that finds use in lithium complex grease and other high performance greases with automotive and industrial applications. 12-HAS is an efficient viscosity builder and gelling agent, and will gel hydrocarbons as well as many esters and some silicones. Salts made from 12-HSA can function as oil/water emulsifiers. 12-HSA can be used as an emollient in underarm deodorant sticks, gel lipsticks, hair styling products, creams and lotions.
